“Rust in Peace… Polaris” is sung from the perspective of a nuclear missile. Who knew to go to Megadeth for environmental action songs? It is more frighteningly applicable today than when it was created. “Dawn Patrol” switches to a more ominous tone and much slower pace quite suitable to the seriousness of the lyrics. Then the guitar solo… holy crap! Wow wow wow! “Tornado of Souls” rocks! Incredible song. I love the witch cackle kicking off “Lucretia” and its lyrics. Even if you hate this stuff you're delusional if you can't recognize the talent behind it. "Poison Was The Cure" opens ominously and then explodes into Megadeth's high-speed thrills. Typical of their songs there are several killer guitar solos, not what I typically think of as my thing but man these are good. "Five Magics" takes things down a notch and makes me want to get back into Dungeons & Dragons.

Fantastic stuff! The lyrics come in and… wow! If thrash metal has hooks Megadeth knows how to write them. The guitar streaks through the opening and locks in on the melody as the drum starts kicking its ass. "Take No Prisoners" takes off like a rocket. can repeated exposure to metal bands in this project turn me into a metal-head?
On to "Hangar 18" and I'm really digging it. The lyrics were melodious expressing sentiments I could agree with. The Punishment Due" started and I was liking what I was hearing in the opening guitar. When this came up I was not thrilled about more metal.
